7 Warning Signs Your Website Has Been Hacked
Most hacked sites look normal to their owners. Here are the quiet signs that something is wrong, and what to do in the first hour.
A single photo straight from a phone can weigh 4 MB, more than the rest of the page combined. On a mobile connection, that is seconds of waiting.
The checklist

- Use WebP or AVIF instead of JPEG and PNG
- Add width and height so the layout does not jump while loading
- Lazy-load images below the fold
- Write alt text for accessibility and image search
